Robert Heckler was born on September 24th, 1983 in Sweeny
Texas and was raised in Brazoria, Texas. At the age of 17 Robert entered the
U.S. Army as an Infantryman. After completing basic training he was assigned to
1st Bn 9th Cavalry, 1st Cavalry Division in Ft Hood, Texas. He was assigned to
Delta Company as a SAW gunner. He was then transferred to the Battalion S3
shop, where he served as a command driver. Prior to deployment Robert was
assigned to HHC Mortar platoon. He deployed to Iraq in March 2004 where he
served as fire team leader and vehicle section leader. While in Iraq he
achieved the rank of Sergeant. After returning home in March of 2005 he left
the Army in June 2005. Shortly after leaving the Army, Robert enrolled in the
Alvin Law Enforcement Academy. Robert served in various capacities in law
enforcement. While serving in Law Enforcement Robert served as a Patrolman,
Patrol supervisor, Swat team member and Team leader, K9 Officer, and
Instructor. Robert also worked as an EMT Basic for a short time, in which he
served as an ambulance crew member and tactical medic. Roberts’s certifications
range from Advanced SWAT, Advanced instructor, Firearms Instructor, and Less
Lethal Instructor. Robert Holds a Bachelors of Applied Science in Criminal
Justice Administration and is currently close to achieving his masters in the
same subject matter. Robert left full-time law enforcement in the end of 2014
and currently works full time in Quality Management. Robert still holds a peace
officer license and works part time as a reserve officer and teaches civilian
firearms courses part time as well. Robert is also a content creator for Texas Tactical Hats (www.texastacticalhats.com). Robert is an addicted waterfowl hunter and
also coaches little league baseball.
